Wow! I have had a very busy summer in 2001.

On the last day of junior high, I had to immediately report to L.D. Bell High School for three days of marching band camp. I never realized just how funny marching band members have to walk.

I turned 15 on May 30th and had a "Not Birthday Party" with Smatt, Garner, James, Caitlin, Monica, Liz and Jessica. I got an Ibanez bass guitar, amplifer, and accessories. Now, if I only had time to learn to play.

I volunteered one week at the Fort Worth Zoo School. I helped in the 5th and 6th grade classes. We got to tour the new Texas Wild area before it was opened to the public. You gotta go see it.

UTA Band Camp was June 10 - 14th. I roomed next to Amanda and Nadia and meet several people who will also be in the L.D. Bell Band this year. David Holsinger of Lee University was the Band Camp director again. We did our grand finale of Sabre Dance, with Chad Gibson, being first chair percussion. I have to admit he's really good, even if he does go to Martin.

Testatment - A Youth Choir went to Williamsburg, VA, Busch Gardens, and several other places from Tennessee to Southern Alabama, on our eight day choir tour. We actually saw Elvis live on stage. I have pictures to prove that Matt Williams and Sean Hale should be committed.

The morning after I returned from Choir tour, my family left for Memphis TN to see my grandmother. Then we visited my great Aunt Lyda in Livingston, TN before heading to Chattanooga, TN on the 4th of July. The next day we rafted on the Ocoee River. Friday we headed to my grandparents in Columbia, TN.

From July 7 - 13th I attended the 1861 Athenaeum Girls' School for the second year. It was awesome. You gotta check out my photo gallery. I'm looking forward to going back to Columbia for the Jackson Cadet's Christmas ball.

The day after getting back from Tennessee, I went to Glen Lake Camp for five days with my friend, Monica Newman. As always, camp is a wonderful time for making friends and getting closer to God.

L.D. Bell Marching Band practice goes for six days a week, then 5 days the next week, then six days the third week. I should get that funny walk down by then. The Band is going to the National Championship in Indianapolis in November. BIG TIME!

I got my driver's permit on July 27th. My mom is my driving instructor. She is asking for your prayers.

School starts August 20th. Sometime before then, I hope to learn to drive, play the guitar, and spend more time with my friends.
